The 108-year curse is finally broken with the Chicago Cubs win at the 2016 World Series and we can’t help but celebrate this monumental achievement of our neighbors to the north. Downtown businesses are joining forces this Saturday, November 5th from 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. for a Cubs Community Block Party celebration and parade to be held on Main Street between 6th to 7th streets. Downtown business/restaurant owners will lead a Cubs victory cheer, as well as offer drink and food specials in honor of the Cubs win. So put on your Cubs gear, grab your “W” flag and head downtown this Saturday to celebrate with Cubs fans from around the community and enjoy a fun night out in downtown Lafayette.
This event is free and open to the public. Participating downtown businesses include:
- DT Kirby’s
- Professor Joe’s
- Spurlocks
- Lafayette Brewing Company
- Kathy’s Kandies
- Bobby T’s
- Halsema Custom Crafts
During this event Bobby T’s will be accepting donations for a November toy-drive. Make plans to stop by Bobby T’s at 605 Main Street and drop off any new, unwrapped toys to be given to local families this holiday season.
