Project Update & May Meeting Materials

The Main Street Streetscape renovation is really starting to take shape! This week, Phase 2 (4th through 5th & 5th Street north of Main) is wrapping up, which completes the first full section (north & south sides) of this Main Street project. Today light poles were installed by electrical crews, and the final brick pavers will be laid on 5th Street in the coming days. While the tree grates have already been placed, we won’t see trees until later this fall when it is optimal planting conditions for young trees. At the same time, planters will be delivered for the entire project.

As Phase 2 comes to a close, Phase 4 (5th through 6th, south side) is well underway. Last Tuesday after the holiday weekend, crews began removal of the sidewalk starting at the Bistro 501 corner. This week as they continue with removals, they will also begin excavation of special soils in preparation for the under drain work and hydrant relocation.
