Weekly Update (10/10/16 – 10/14/16)
Crisp air is setting in and downtown has quickly transformed into a picturesque portrait of fall! Throw on a lightweight jacket and take to Main Street to check out the progress that’s being made on the Streetscapes project!
This week, between 6th and 8th streets on the north side, crews will:
- Continue to prep for sidewalk and paver bands
- Install curb ramps
- Install pavers later in the week
As work continues on 6th Street with pavers and sidewalks, crews will be working on Saturdays and Sundays as needed. As the project progresses, intermittent closures will continue. Work will also continue on tree fencing.
Don’t Forget:
- Parking on Main Street is limited within construction areas. Please use surrounding streets for parking and refrain from moving construction barrels.
- In addition to on-street parking, the city parking garage located on Columbia and 5th is free to the public on nights and weekends.
On Monday, October 17th, work will switch to the south side of Main Street between 6th and 8th streets. Look for traffic control changes coming soon.
Don’t miss Purdue Homecoming on Saturday, October 15th!
