Weekly Update 11/24/2020

Crews are transitioning to the final details for Phase 3 of the Streetscapes Project for Downtown Lafayette! Last week (November 16 – November 20) saw the completion of the asphalt paving, as well as concrete crews cutting around the storm structure castings to adjust them, then pour concrete around the structures. With the completion of the asphalt paving, Highway Sign and Safety followed by applying thermoplastic pavement markings on the streets throughout Phase III. Huston Electric was onsite to begin installing the street signs, and Slussers was present to begin planning trees and installing sod. Repair of some brick pavers at the intersection of Main and 11th St. was completed by Decorative Paving.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, work this week will consist only from Monday to Wednesday (November 23 – November 25). During this time, Huston Electric will finish the installation of the street signs. Also onsite, will be Slussers to finish planning perennials and bulbs in the landscaping beds. Inspections will begin, first with a video inspection of the storm system conducted by 3D Incorporated.
