Weekly Update (11/14/16 – 11/18/16)
This week is full-speed ahead for the Main Street Streetscapes Project! Trees continue to be planted throughout the project, electrical installs continue, and WiFi connections will also be installed throughout the week.
On Main Street between 6th and 8th streets South Side, crews will be:
- Pouring curb and paver bands
- Beginning brick paver sidewalk installs
In the Frontier parking lot:
- Approach has been poured
- The new entrance drive off of Columbia Street is being finished up
On 7th Street:
- Demo and removals will begin this week
- Curb prep will begin toward the end of the week
On Main Street
Next week, the complete and final paving will begin and will finish by Thanksgiving. Watch for intermittent Main Street closures throughout the paving process.
Looking Ahead
Main Street will be closed for one day between 6th and 8th streets for conduit installation. The south side of 6th Street intermittently for final installs as needed.
Small Business Saturday
Saturday, November 26
Shop local the Saturday after Thanksgiving to show support for small businesses. The past few years have seen lively turnout along Main Street for Small Business Saturday. Don’t miss out on the excitement!

The holiday season is here! There’s no better way to get into the spirit of the season than with lighted floats and music at the annual Lafayette Christmas Parade.
We also encourage you to take advantage of your storefront windows by embellishing with holiday décor, lights, and more to reflect the holiday season!
