Weekly Update (12/02/2016 – 12/09/2016)

Crews have had another impressive week of progress! Pouring of the remaining sidewalk and curbs on the south side of Main Street between 6th and 8th streets is reaching completion, making way for sidewalk paver installation to begin soon.

On Main Street, paving has been completed from 4th to 8th streets. 6th Street is set to reopen today, while landscaping and tree planting continues down Main Street.

Reminder: Prepare for holiday hustle and bustle this Saturday!

Shop and restaurant owners, please be aware that parking on Main Street will be restricted on Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m. to accommodate all of the holiday festivities. With your help, we’ll do our best to direct downtown visitors to area parking garages, surrounding street parking, and parking lots designated specifically for Saturday’s events.

Special lighting will be in place to keep all areas of Main Street well-lit for visitors navigating the area for the night parade. Your understanding is very much appreciated!

We wish everyone a very merry and prosperous holiday!

Downtown Festivities on Saturday, December 3rd:

There’s no better way to get into the spirit of the season than with lighted floats and music at the annual Lafayette Christmas Parade.
