Weekly Update (5/9/16-5/13/16)
The first two phases of the Main Street Streetscape project are nearing completion. All this is needed are a few finishing touches on the Upper Main Street section and on the south side of Main Street between 4th and 5th. Both sections will have tree grates installed later this week, and trees will be planted this fall. In the Upper Main section, crews are also working on the road this week, resurfacing the area between 10th and 11th.
With only minor details remaining in the areas mentioned above, construction is in full swing on the north side of Main Street between 4th and 5th, as well as 5th Street north of Main. This week, weather permitting, crews will install curbs in both areas and work on sidewalk prep.
Remember, if you are looking for somewhere to park when visiting downtown, there is plenty of off-street parking on the blocks surrounding the project sites, as well as the city parking garage on 5th and Columbia, which is free evenings and weekends.
