Weekly Update (8/8/16 – 8/12/16)
August is shaping up to be a beautiful month filled with great progress on our Main Street makeover. This week, there will be new developments on 5th and 6th North Side along with several updates to 6th Street.
This week on 5th and 6th North Side, crews will be:
- Preparing light pole foundations and electrical
- Prepping for curb, then starting to pour curb and gutter by the end of the week
On 6th Street, crews will be:
- Performing tree well excavations on the east side of the street
- Starting curb prep by the end of the week
- Starting to slip concrete curb and prep sidewalk on Friday
6th Street will remain closed through August with a goal to reopen the street by Friday, August 26th.
Looking Ahead
- Thursday, August 18th – Boiler Bridge Bash
Purdue’s fall semester starts soon, and we’ll be kicking it off by welcoming students with a celebration in Courthouse Square. Introduce your business to incoming students by signing up for a booth at The Boiler Bridge Bash.
- Saturday, August 27th – Uptown Jazz & Blues Festival
