Weekly Update 9/15/20

Sidewalk work continued on the south side of Main Street last week (September 8 – 11) as crews continued progressing on Phase 3 of the Streetscapes Project for Downtown Lafayette. Crews started and finished the removal process of the old sidewalk, installing temporary safe access points for residents and businesses as they went. This was followed by the formation and pouring of new curb and gutter, then the forming and pouring of the new sidewalk! This upcoming week (September 14 – 18) will see the continuation of concrete work on Main Street between N. 10^th and halfway between 9^th Streets. Once the south side of Main Street has been finished, crews will begin work on the north side.

Fresh Air Eats, an outdoor dining and shopping experience downtown, will continue Fridays from 4-10pm, Saturdays 11am – 10pm and Sundays 10:30am – 8pm every weekend until October 4^th. Enjoy extended patio seating and closed down streets ideal for spending time socially distanced outdoors.
