Weekly Update 9/22/20

Work has shifted to the north side of Main Street as the concrete work on the south side is finished! This past week (September 14-18), work on Phase III of the Streetscapes Project for Downtown Lafayette saw the pouring of the new concrete ramps, followed by the installation of the Tuftile radial ADA plates. Then, work shifted to the north side of Main Street with the beginning of the removal process of the old sidewalk. This work included the installation of temporary safe access points for residents and businesses. Huston Electric was onsite to begin pulling wire for the new street lighting. This upcoming week (September 21-25), will see the continuation of concrete work on the north side of Main Street between N 10th and 9th Streets. This concrete work includes the pouring of curb and gutter, and the pouring of the sidewalk and paver base sections. Brick pavers will begin to be installed on Thursday, September 24th! Huston Electric will also be onsite this week to continue work on the new street lighting.

Fresh Air Eats, an outdoor dining and shopping experience downtown, will continue Fridays from 4-10pm, Saturdays 11am – 10pm and Sundays 10:30am – 8pm every weekend until October 4th.
