Weekly Update (9/12/16 – 9/16/16)

We’re moving right along into Phase 6 of our Streetscapes project. Have you seen the sidewalks on the north side of Main Street between 5^th and 6^th streets? They are looking sharp! Take a look, and keep an eye out for plants, bike racks, and trash bins in the next couple of weeks.

This week between 6^th and 8^th streets, be on the lookout for

• Crews moving blacktop and dirt
• Demolition, removals, and saw cutting on the north side of the street
• Lane restrictions
• Parking restrictions on the north side

This week’s construction will also include:

• Re-striping on Main Street between 5^th and 6^th streets earlier in the week
• Paving and re-striping 6^th Street

Businesses will remain open and accessible as much as possible, however, there may be temporary closures due to active removals. Phase 6 is one of the largest phases of the Streetscapes project. Your patience during this construction is very much appreciated.

• OutFest is Saturday, September 17^th!

Lafayette’s annual pride festival hosted by Pride Lafayette, aims to increase public awareness of the LGBTI community in Lafayette and beyond, bring attention to LGBTI issues, provide resources, and celebrate diversity.
